DAAA 2026: IEEE ISPA 2026 Special Session on Distributed Agentic AI and Applications
Large language models and generative AI are rapidly evolving from passive assistants into autonomous agents that plan, invoke tools, collaborate with humans and with each other, and act on real-world tasks. Agentic AI is now being applied across software engineering, scientific discovery, healthcare, education, finance, and smart manufacturing, and is increasingly orchestrated across cloud–edge–device infrastructures as distributed systems of cooperating agents, tools, and data services. This transition creates new opportunities for scalable and assistive intelligence, but it also introduces new challenges in agent orchestration, human–AI collaboration, context and data management, serving efficiency, evaluation, and dependable deployment.
DAAA provides a focused forum for research at the intersection of agentic and assistive AI, real-world applications, and parallel and distributed systems. Submissions should make a substantive contribution to agentic, assistive, or applied AI — for example, through novel agent frameworks and applications, human–AI collaboration techniques, or system support for agent workloads. Contributions grounded in parallel or distributed execution, multi-agent-coordination, or cloud–edge–device deployment are particularly welcome.
This special session is now soliciting relevant research findings from a wide range of researchers and looks forward to your active contributions!
We invite submissions from academia, government and industry that present novel research on the topics as following areas:
- LLM-based agents and multi-agent systems: architectures, orchestration, coordination, and communication
- Tool use, planning, memory, and retrieval for autonomous and assistive agents
- Human-AI collaboration, copilots, and interactive assistance in real-world workflows
- Domain-specific agentic AI applications: software engineering, science, healthcare, education, finance, manufacturing, and smart cities
- Agent simulation, world models, and environments for training and evaluating agentic AI
- Serving, scheduling, and resource management for large-model inference and agent workloads on cloud-edge-device systems
- Data management, context engineering, and knowledge infrastructure for agents
- Benchmarks, evaluation, reproducibility, safety and trust, deployment experience, and industry practice
Paper Submission
All papers must be submitted electronically via EDAS at https://edas.info/N35730. Submissions must not substantially overlap with previously published papers or papers concurrently submitted to other journals or conferences. Special Session papers are limited to 6 pages, and must be formatted in the IEEE Computer Society Proceedings Format. Templates and formatting guidelines are available at https://template-selector.ieee.org/. All submitted papers will undergo a single-blind peer review process.
Paper Publication
Papers accepted by IEEE ISPA 2026 Special Session will be published by the IEEE Computer Society Press. All accepted papers will be submitted to IEEE Xplore and EI.
